Hi Pooja,
the Star Join is not just about joining arbitrary tables together.
Just as with the Analytic View it is about the semantics of dealing with an OLAP data model (star-schema, snow-flake, etc.).
With the Star Join operation available in the calculation view, this kind of queries can now be modeled without the Analytic View. This also provides more flexibility in terms of where the fact and dimensional data can come from.
e.g. you cannot use a calc view as a dimension in an analytic view (but you may want to).
