Re: Sap hana import and export data using command line

Hi..

My question is related with this thread,

We are trying to export the schema through the following steps get error in step 3 in below.

1. ssh to machine which has SAP HANA installed

2. hdbsql -n localhost:30015 -u system -p password

3. EXPORT "SCHEMA_NAME"."*" AS BINARY INTO '/home/hanauser/hana-database-backups/'

* 258: insufficient privilege: Not authorized SQLSTATE: HY000

When I checked the system user, it does have export and import privilege so why is it failing complaining about privilege?

Note: The same operation works successfully through UI.  (export option in HANA studio).

SAP HANA BW LIVE VIEWS

SAP HANA LIVE VIEWS only have calculation views and there are no Attribute Views and Analytical Views

All the dimensions created as Calculation views example Address, Material

In case of Analytical view also they created as calculation views.

Question is if we are not having attribute and analytical view are we losing the performance.

Is there any reason why SAP provided the views in only calculation views?

As per HANA best practice to create Attribute, Analytical and Calculation views.

Thanks,

Vara

The user that should perform the export needs to have the SELECT privilege on the tables to be exported as well. See the documentation on this: GRANT - SAP HANA SQL and System Views Reference - SAP Library.

Besides, that's the only way that makes any sense, isn't it? You don't want users that aren't allowed to see the data to be able to export it, just to read it then, won't you?

Does HANA SP8 (release 80) on Amazon AWS comes with all the access?

$

Hi all,

I am planning to purchase HANA SP8 (release 80) on Amazon AWS instance but before buying it I want to confirm following questions :

1. Does HANA SP8 (release 80) on Amazon AWS comes with all the access like Admin access?

2. Can I create different role for different users for the testing purpose?

3. Would I be able to perform and see all the trace configuration as part of administrative access?

4. Does it also has HANA Development (XS-Engine)?

5. Does it come with BODS component?

Any idea or suggestions?

Hitesh,

Is this problem come only for one calculation view or the same is there for all the objects exposed via odata.

In best of my knowledge, we can have calculation views created using SQL Script - We usually call it Scripted calculation view . This approach is chosen when we can not achieve the scenario using graphical calculation view. We can not create analytic views &DTs with SQL Scripts .

Hi Sree,

This is first one for which I am creating odata service.

In this calc view, I am calling tables, views, AT views and Calc view also.

is it the reason for transaction error ?

Thanks

Hitesh

Re: HALM - Transport Blocker: Time difference between systems is more than 1 minute.

Hi Mathias,

this message indicates that time of the source and target server is differening more than one minute. The solutionis to ensure that the time is more accurate. It is not about different time zones (they should not harm). It is just about a small difference which makes it difficult to calculate the order of some transports in a reliable way.

Best regards,

Frank

that shouldn't make any difference . So, you are not passing any parameters. Can you provide the xsodata file syntax as well as the url you are trying to call ? Mean while try exposing a simple view or table and check if the corresponding service call is working or not

HANA's ADO.NET HanaConnection.Open() throws StackOverflowException when connecting with user, who must change password

Hello,

I've noticed an error in SAP HANA Data Provider for ADO.NET:

If we try to open the connection via HanaConnection.Open() with user (UID), who must change password at first logon, the method fails with StackOverflowException.

For example:

Enable 'User must change password at first logon' in Security -> Security -> Password Policy in SAP HANA Studio.

Change user's password.

Try to open the connection to database via ADO.NET Data Provider.

Do you think, there's some way, how to change the password before the connection is opened?

It seems, that there's the same problem, if I try to call the HanaConnection.ChangePassword().

We are using Sap.Data.Hana.v4.5.dll version 1.0.80.0.

Thank you.

HANA Modeler Floating Node

Hi friends!

I'm creating a graphical calculation view in Hana Studio V.1.00.83 and after some joins and projections I'm getting this error: Floating Node LFA1 found in this Calculation View

This node (LFA1) was linked with a union and running fine, but when model grow up and I try to Activate, without reason this node was unlinked and I got this error. I tried re-link but after this occurs for the first time it keep doing this and returning Floating error.

Hana server is running version1.00.83.00.395718 (NewDB100_REL) but I can't see support packege version on HB Studio.

Anyone already had this problem?

Thanks for any help.

I have been told I have access to HANA from the UA Alliance in Wisconsin, Madison but I do not know how to actually access their server - can anyone help?

I have a SAP HANA Clound Platform trial account. Now I see a unknown schema:

JTG (my user name)

|-- Catalog

|-- NEO_XXXXXXXXXX

     |-- Tables

         |-- p1940044813trial.gadisihanaxs.hello.mytable1

The shema NEO_XXXXXXXXXX is not my schema and p1940044813trial is not my HCP account.

But I can access this schema. What has happened ? Is this a security problem ?

Can anyone help?

Re: Activation History Table

Hi Jared,

For activated content you can look at _SYS_REPO.ACTIVE_OBJECT

and for inactive select on _SYS_REPO.INACTIVE_OBJECT

But aren't the history but the recent status of an artifact, you can build a select to check latest changes on columns activated_at or last_changed_at.

Hi Suraj,

Better you create your own thread than post together with other threads.

This brings attention to your query without make the other colleague query confusing.

BTW: You aren't using placeholder correctly, check manual.

Hi Matthias,

this is a good point.

It depends on the amount of time the clock is wrong and how critical down times are.

If there is a window of time where you  can stop the server, correct the time and start the server after at least the time reached the original time again - then you are from my point of view on the save side.

Frank
