When I attempt to access my revision 56 HANA Developers Edition system via Excel 2007, I can not see any HANA ODBC or MDX drivers to connect with. The HANA system was updated from the revison 48 HANA Developer Edition. I followed the HOWTO - Update your SAP HANA, developer edition on AWS document. This also gave access to a copy of the revision 56 HANA Studio and Client software, which I installed over the top of the existing revision 48 versions.
* I hadn't attempted to connect via ODBC / MDX using the version 48 client
* I have successfully connected and run SQL against the revision 56 Database from the version 56 Client / Studio.
The DLLs are in place in the Client directory... Shouldn't these be available, just by installing the HANA Client, or do I need something else ?
Thanks in advance
PS I've had issues in the past where 64 bit DLLs wouldnt register properly, because they were being installed using the 32 bit version of regsvr32 (from the MS KB article: How to use the Regsvr32 tool and troubleshoot Regsvr32 error messages), so I tried manually registering them.
Unfortunately, I still can't see the HANA ODBC or MDX connections
