The Hortonworks-Sandbox is running CentOS 6.X. This will prevent the compatibility libraries from being loaded and Vora will not start.
Currently, Vora only supports RHEL6.6, RHEL7.1, and SLES11.3. For details see Product Availability Matrix (PAM) at support.sap.com/pam or Vora Installation Guide at http://help.sap.com/Download/Multimedia/hana_vora/SAP_HANA_Vora_Installation_Developer_Guide_en.pdf
I would strongly discourage from using any but the supported operating systems. We only tested on the supported OS and we will not support if issues occur due to an unsupported operating systems.
