Yes, the properties file might be the reason, as a matter of fact, Oracle might not be the best starting point for Postgres, the newer DB's are probably closer, however I also consider it to be safer to make the inserts using CSV files and using the virtual tables as read-only. We use them to store cold data, so this is still quite satisfactory.
