When you use the EQUIDISTANT interval then the data has to exactly fit into this raster.
The MISSING VALUES part is just about allowing or not allowing values to be missing in the series, e.g. because some readings haven't been collected.
If you want to allow for values that don't fit into the raster, you have to use NOT EQUIDISTANT.
