Hello,
I am doing my Master Thesis on Performance Analysis of different databases that includes SAP HANA,MS SQL Server 2014,MongoDb and MySQL.
I have university license to use SQL server and as others are open source, there is no issue installing them. The problem comes with SAP HANA.
The University does not have license for HANA and as a result i had to contact a lot of third party vendors which provide HANA Studio installed server access via remote access. They have options of Shared Servers (RAM shared among multiple users granted access to the same server) and the dedicated server(RAM is exclusively allocated to you). The shared server access cost around $50 per month and dedicated cost around $500.Shared server is of no use to me as timing for different query execution (INSERT,DELETE,UPDATE,SELECT) will vary depending upon the number of users a that particular instance.Since i wont be getting any monetary support form the university,i have no option but to pay for the dedicated server on my own.
Few Questions
1)Is there any other way that i could work.Like HANA on AWS.The university provides access for AWS.But i am not sure if HANA studio will be available om AWS as i read you need to have Studio license and installed on your system to access HANA one.
2)If i take the dedicated server,is there any way to confirm the i am not fooled ,and what i have is a dedicated server and not a shared server.
