Indeed my definition lacked the "aggreages always" statement, so I added it, but unfortunately I still get the same error.
FYI the definition looks like this:
"_SYS_BIC"."test/TEST_VIEW_1" as "test" keys ("MYID") aggregates always (SUM of "AMOUNT");
