SQL does not come with data life cycle management features.
If you want or need them, you have got to build them or you need to use the proper tools.
SAP DataServices for example.
Or the newly built in Enterprise Information Management Option (SAP HANA Enterprise Information Management – SAP Help Portal Page) with SAP HANA SP9.
Or, depending on the extend of your clients needs, use SAP BW on HANA, which is the complete, correct and SAP HANA optimized data warehousing solution by SAP.
So, yes, you may have to go to your client and tell him that your original plan may not work.
