SAP Web IDE is available as part of the HANA Cloud Platform offering.
It is also available as a Local Installation for test and evaluation purposes via SCN.
The current Local Installation version is based on the HCP SAP Web IDE release 1.4. As a general rule only features that were productive as part of the HCP SAP Web IDE release 1.4 are available on the Local Installation edition. This means that features that are marked as "experimental" are not available. Other features that are not available in the Local Installation are (taken from the Local Installation Dev Guide):
- SAP HANA Cloud features:
- Deploying to SAP HANA Cloud
- Mobile Platform
- Running applications on SAP HANA Cloud
- Extending applications on SAP HANA Cloud
- Importing applications from SAP HANA Cloud
- Collaboration and JAM support
- Plug-in development
- Template development
- Consumption of external plug-ins
We recommend our cloud offering as this allows you to work with latest SAP versions without any installation effort. Also features like version management via Git repository are provided out of the box.
