I haven't seen anything published about the timing of the new SP9 Developer edition. I was hoping that the team could help me out on the expected specs for AWS.
A little background information: We’re currently using a reserved instance on AWS and it is coming up for renewal. Our current instance type is m2.2xlarge which is now considered "legacy" on the AWS marketplace. I verified on cal.sap.com that the current recommendation for Rev 80 is m2.4xlarge (also considered a "legacy" instance type by AWS). According to Amazon, the migration path to the new instances is M2/CR1 to R3 instance types. My initial guess would be that the R3.2xlarge instance with 61 GiB/Memory and 8 vCPU is the closest instance type for the m2.4xlarge recommended for Rev 80.
Given all the news on SP9 recently on SCN, is there any information as to the suggested instance type we’ll need to use for the Developer Instance on AWS? I don’t want to renew my "legacy" Reserved Instance only to find out it is not supported/recommended for SP9.
Can the team share any information on the expected instance type for SP9?
