REGI and the HANA Client are no longer required for usage of the HANA Studio for development as of SPS07. All the dependencies on these tools were removed and all you need is the HANA Studio. No REGI configuration is needed any longer.
Yes it is correct that you should use the project explorer and not the systems view as stated in the openSAP course. Why your doubt?
