same problem here.
I'm using rev. 70 of SAP HANA Studio and the SAP HANA Cloud trial.
I've added the system in the Studio under "Systems" and can connect successfully. I can also open schemas, take a look which tables are in there and so on - so far it seems to work.
Now I've added a repository, and when I try to open it I get the mentioned error "Database connection is not available. See error log for details".
Where can we find this error log?

For testing I've created a new windows user and with this new user it works.
@Michael: You could try this too, I would be interested if this solves the problem for you...
